Nov. 28: Getting Started with Online & Hybrid Teaching

There are many more challenges teaching online and hybrid courses, and nearly all can be addressed or at least minimized by applying sound pedagogical techniques. At this workshop, attendees will learn both foundational and newer techniques from experienced educators. After the workshop, attendees will be better prepared to teach hybrid and online courses compassionately, equitably, and effectively.

Dec. 2: Preparing for Life Post-Graduate School: Exploring Non-Academic Career Pathways and Translating Your Skill-set to Prospective Employers

This workshop is designed to help graduate students better understand the various career pathways that are available to them after they finish their advanced degree, including how to find where nonacademic jobs are posted. By participating in this workshop you will learn how to use your networks, explore alternative career options while still a graduate student, learn about strategies to continue to develop your transferable skills, and more.

Student Support Spot for Basic Needs Challenges Open
UNLV's new Student Support Spot is open. The Student Support Spot provides free food packages; toiletry items; and guidance to students facing basic needs challenges (food, housing, transportation, mental health, child care, and digital access). Located in the University Gateway Building in the Welcome Center on the second floor, the Student Support Spot is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Learn more.
Thesis/Dissertation Office Hours
Students with questions about their thesis or dissertation can take advantage of the Graduate College's thesis and dissertation office hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 12-2 p.m. Email grad.td@unlv.edu at least 48 hours in advance to schedule a virtual appointment. Learn more.
The Graduate College is accepting nominations for the Outstanding Thesis/Dissertation Awards and the Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award. Each academic college may nominate one outstanding thesis, one outstanding dissertation, and one outstanding graduate student teacher. Nominations are due Dec. 1. Dec. 1: 2023-24 Scholarships and Fellowships Application Deadline
Graduate students can submit applications for merit-based scholarships and fellowships for the 2023-24 academic year until Dec. 1, 2022 through the Grad Rebel Gateway. Learn more.
