This workshop, part of the Academic Job Search Demystified series, aims to provide participants with a foundation to help excel in the teaching demonstration component of the academic job interview process. Participants will gain valuable insights into creating strong teaching demonstrations that effectively showcase teaching abilities and pedagogical approaches. Participants will learn how to structure and design a teaching demonstration that clearly conveys teaching philosophies, objectives, and methodologies, as well as gain tools and knowledge needed to confidently deliver an impressive teaching demonstration.

In this workshop, participants will learn how to enhance workplace communication and build strong professional relationships. Participants will also explore essential techniques for active listening, assertive communication, and nonverbal cues, as well as strategies to develop conflict resolution skills and giving and receiving feedback.

Foundations of a Grant Lifecycle Badge Applications Being Accepted
While anyone can apply for a grant, even the best researchers need guidance to create compelling and competitive proposals. The Graduate College is accepting applications for its new Foundations of a Grant Lifecycle Badge, a free program with research- and expert-informed content to help graduate and professional students learn about researching funding opportunities, assessing fit, crafting winning proposals, and managing awarded grants. "Get that Published" Cohort Application
The GPSA and the University Libraries are piloting an open access publishing program to create a cohort of students interested in sharing their work through open-access avenues. The “Get That Published” program will lead students through a yearlong workshop and peer-review writing series, with the goal of publishing their work in an open-access venue. Learn more and apply.

The UNLV Women’s Council is hosting a donation drive through Oct. 27 for SafeNest, an organization that provides confidential, emergency shelter to victims of domestic and sexual violence, including children and pets. The Women’s Council is collecting critical basic need items for women including full-size hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, and toothpaste) and women’s clothing (all sizes, especially XL+).
