UNLV to Receive State Funding to Strengthen Graduate Assistant Program
As a result of Nevada’s 82nd Legislative Session, over the next two fiscal years, UNLV will receive more than $8 million to boost state-funded graduate assistant (GA) stipends and more than $6 million to increase the number of state-funded doctoral GAs at our institution. Learn more.

Interested in mentoring undergraduate students who are considering going to graduate school? Apply by Sept. 1 to be a Grad Rebel Advantage mentor! The Grad Rebel Advantage program provides mentorship, workshops, and professional development opportunities to help prepare UNLV undergraduate students for graduate studies at UNLV or elsewhere. Grad Rebel Advantage mentors help undergraduates in the program navigate the graduate school preparation and application process. Mentors will receive a $250 scholarship each semester.

Sept. 15: 2023-24 Student Health Insurance Waiver
The final day to waive out of the student health insurance for 2023-24 is Sept. 15, 2023. Students must complete a waiver once every academic year. Waivers completed in previous years will not carry over. If students do not complete a new waiver for the 2023-24 academic year, the charge will remain on their account, they will be enrolled in the student health insurance, and they will be required to pay the cost for student health insurance. The Graduate & Professional Student Association and the Graduate College will host an open house where you can drop in between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and spin for swag. In addition, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. there will be donuts, coffee, and yogurt, and from 2-4 p.m. there will be cookies, juice, and yogurt. Learn more.
