Oct. 11: Non-Academic Job Offer and Salary Negotiation

While most employers would likely agree that salary negotiations are appropriate if done in a professional manner, many graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are afraid of this process or unsure how to initiate it. This workshop you will help you better understand non-academic job offers from a variety of employment sectors, including what you should do when you receive a job offer and how to evaluate one.

By reviewing how to identify, apply for, receive, and manage grants, this workshop will provide you with an overview of the full life cycle of a grant. In addition, this workshop will cover what needs to be done after a grant has been awarded, including follow-up reporting and relationship management.

Participate in this year's Rebel Grad Slam 3-Minute Thesis Competition for the chance of winning more than $1,000 in scholarship money! Thesis/Dissertation Office Hours
Students with questions about their thesis or dissertation can take advantage of the Graduate College's thesis and dissertation office hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 12-2 p.m. Send an email to
grad.td@unlv.edu at least 48 hours in advance to schedule a virtual appointment.

Therapy Assistance Online (TAO)
UNLV has partnered with TAO Connect, a digital platform aimed at making behavioral health therapy more accessible, efficient, and effective. Through TAO Connect, members of the UNLV community have free access to self-help tools that allow them to work toward improving their behavioral health on their own schedule.
Through TAO’s completely self-directed, self-help app and online program, users are provided more than 150 brief, effective, educational sessions covering more than 50 common topics and skills related to mental health, wellness, and substance use issues. TAO includes interactive sessions, mindfulness exercises, and practice tools all aimed at helping UNLV students, faculty, and staff achieve their goals.
