Apr. 24: Podcasting 101: Basics of Recording and Editing
1-2 p.m., Lied Library, Audio Production Studio l
Join Multimedia and Design Specialist David Ramos Candelas to learn the basics of podcast recording and editing using Adobe Audition and technology found inside of Lied Library's Multimedia Production Studios. During this one-hour workshop, participants will explore Lied Library's multimedia resources and practice basic recording and editing using Adobe Audition. Learn more and RSVP.

Hosted by UNLV Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), this communication skills workshop will provide participants with a set of communication skills. Free English Language Tutoring Program
UNLV’s International Student and Scholar Services is offering free English Language Tutoring to all international and multilingual grad students. Tutors can assist with conversational skills, pronunciation, listening comprehension, vocabulary, reading, presentations, and grammar. Late Applications for Graduation Due
Students applying for graduation on or after March 2 will need to email grad.rpc@unlv.edu to request a late graduation application be added to their MyUNLV account, as the option will not be available automatically in MyUNLV after March 1. Students applying for graduation after March 1 will be assessed a $20 late fee. Learn more.

Join Philip McKenna Professor Emeritus of the Pacific Rim at Claremont McKenna College Roderic Camp for a discussion about the Mexican presidency. Two women will vie for Mexico's presidency for the first time, which marks a significant marker in the country's political and gender relations. Join Melisa Vivanco from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley for a discussion about arithmetical beliefs. Specifically, Vivanco will argue that the mystery surrounding arithmetical beliefs is due to a preconception of two realities: one mathematical and one nonmathematical, which are alien to each other. Join Brookings Mountain West and the Lincy Institute for a lecture titled "How and Why Foster Care Impacts Maltreated Youths' School Performance" by the 2023-2024 Robert E. Lang Memorial Fellow Mallory Constantine. The lecture will explore how disruptions in foster care affect school behavior and performance and will offer a series of actions and policy recommendations to increase educational support for our most at risk youth in Nevada. This event will showcase the talents of singer/songwriter Chadwick Johnson, UNLV's expert on auditory perception and cognition Joel Snyder, and advocate for lifelong learning Niels Clyde. The day will feature performances by the OLLI at UNLV’s Ukulele group and the esteemed UNLV Jazz Ensemble. After the performances, join us in a panel discussion to explore the intricate link between music and cognitive health, with insights from Dr. Joel Snyder, Dr. Kate Zhong, Chadwick Johnson, David Loeb of UNLV Jazz, and Dr. Rob Levrant.
