May 1: Being Adaptive in an Ever Changing World
9-10 a.m., Virtual
This workshop will provide participants with strategies for adapting to the always changing world. By the end of this workshop, participants will differentiate between being adaptive and similar concepts, recognize the importance of being adaptive in work and life, examine traits of highly adaptive people, and outline action steps to improve adaptive skills. Join Visiting Assistant Professor Dr. Linc Johnson for an engaging and meaningful discussion on the activities, priorities, and models that will help to build student engagement through meaningful interaction, collaboration, and international cooperation. UNLV offers an extensive Student Resource Guide that students, faculty, and staff may find helpful. The guide is divided into 15 different categories to help students find the help they may be looking for.
May 1: Autumn Davis Memorial Scholarship Applications Due
The Autumn Davis Memorial Scholarship seeks to support students who will be pursuing a career in the mental health field. This award is open to any high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student with at least a 3.0 GPA and is pursuing a career in mental health. Learn more and apply.

Apr. 30: Robert E. Lang Memorial Fellowship Lecture
Join Brookings Mountain West and the Lincy Institute for a lecture titled "How and Why Foster Care Impacts Maltreated Youths' School Performance" by the 2023-2024 Robert E. Lang Memorial Fellow Mallory Constantine. The lecture will explore how disruptions in foster care affect school behavior and performance and will offer a series of actions and policy recommendations to increase educational support for our most at risk youth in Nevada.

May 1: Diversity Dialogues: How to be a Peacemaker
This gathering will be an opportunity to connect with peacemaking skills. Activities will be facilitated by an Anytown Camp Coordinator. Participants will share personal peace practices and their beneficial effects. By attending this session, participants will obtain tangible skills that can be employed daily to facilitate peacemaking within spheres of influence.
Academic success can be hard to navigate without basic needs items. With just a RebelCard ID or proof of a UNLV email address, students can access items such as toiletries and personal hygiene products; school supplies; bedding and linens; childcare items; clothing; household and kitchen items; and nonperishable food goods. Opened in 2007, the UNLV Wellness Zone is UNLV’s holistic, integrated wellness resource for the UNLV campus community. As a part of the Department of Wellness Promotion with Campus Recreation, we promote healthy behaviors through evidence-based programming with measurable goals, campus-wide events, peer education, and the dissemination of relevant health information and resources to encourage lifelong personal wellness through best practices.
