2022 Grad Rebel Writing Boot Camp
The Grad Rebel Writing Boot Camp is a week-long program that provides graduate students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become more efficient and successful writers. It also provides students with the opportunity to learn about the different types of writing groups as well as how to successfully start and maintain their own writing group. The program is a collaborative effort between the Graduate College, UNLV Libraries, and UNLV Writing Center. Grad Rebel Writing Boot Camp will take place from Jan. 3. to Jan. 7, 2022.

Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH) Postdoctoral Opportunity
The Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH) is seeking research proposals from postdoctoral fellows ready to help solve the challenges of space exploration. TRISH's postdoctoral fellowship program supports early-career scientists pursuing innovative, breakthrough research with the potential to reduce spaceflight-associated health risks and improve astronaut performance. Fellows will receive a stipend for salary support for two years, with a chance for a third year of funding. Applications are due on Jan. 20, 2022 by 5 p.m. ET. Learn more.

Nov. 22: Last Day to Submit Your Thesis or Dissertation for Format Review
Nov. 22 is the last day to submit the complete and formatted, committee-approved copy of your thesis or dissertation to the Graduate College for format review. Please see the Thesis/Dissertation Format Review page for more details.
Dec. 1: Immunization Records Due for Graduate Assistants
The Emergency COVID-19 Employee Vaccination Policy requires that all NSHE employees be vaccinated for COVID-19 by Dec. 1, 2021. A copy of the approved policy can be found here. Failure to comply with the policy by Dec. 1, 2021, will result in your termination of employment on Dec. 31, 2021. Graduate Assistants must comply with both the immunization protocol for students and the vaccination policy as an employee, which are two different processes.
If you are a current GA, please take a moment to ensure that your employee record in Workday is up-to-date:
1. Log in to Workday
2. Click on the cloud icon on the upper-right corner of the screen
3. Select “view profile”
4. Click on “overview” from the menu
5. Select “additional data” at the top of the screen
6. The source of vaccination data and your vaccination status is located under “COVID 19 Vaccination” heading

Dec. 1: 2022-23 Scholarship and Fellowship Applications Due
Tuesday, Nov. 30 is no ordinary Tuesday. It's #GivingTuesday, an annual one-day global fundraising movement that encourages everyone to get involved in transforming their communities. The Graduate College is seeking community support on #GivingTuesday to help graduate students in need of financial assistance. If you know anyone who may be interested in getting involved, please invite them to make a gift on Nov. 30.
Dec. 13: Doctoral Recognition Ceremony
Each fall and spring, the Graduate College hosts a reception in celebration of the semester's graduating doctoral candidates. The Doctoral Recognition Ceremony is held in addition to the university Commencement Ceremony and does not replace it. This semester, the Doctoral Recognition Ceremony will take place on Dec. 13 from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. All graduates who attend the event will be awarded the UNLV Doctoral Honor Cord to be worn at commencement. Students are hooded at commencement. Learn more.
Free Nutrition Consultations
If you are a current student who has paid the Student Health Fee, you have access to free nutrition consultations with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist through the Student Wellness Center. Common reasons for visits include: fad diets, sports nutrition, diabetes management, weight management, healthy eating habits, cholesterol or blood pressure management, and disordered eating.
