In this workshop, students will explore the intersection of big data, corporate sustainability, and community impact. Learn about how professor Benjamin Leffel is using big data in his research on corporate sustainability to understand who owns whom among global green businesses, map the geography of emissions trading among the world's cities, and identify the biggest green businesses in Las Vegas. Students will develop an understanding of how big data can be used to analyze corporate sustainability, discover how data-driven insights can drive positive change and make a difference in the Las Vegas community, and gain perspective on how to collaborate with local authorities and businesses to leverage research impact. Feb. 15: Robert E. Lang Memorial Fellowship Deadline Extension
The Lincy Institute and Brookings Mountain West have extended the application deadline for the Robert E. Lang Memorial Fellowship for the 2024-25 academic year until February 15. Students from all academic disciplines are welcome and encouraged to apply for this fellowship. The Robert E. Lang Memorial Fellowship is awarded to UNLV Ph.D. students who have advanced to candidacy and who have an approved Ph.D. dissertation prospectus. Special consideration is given to eligible applicants with dissertation topics focused on the Las Vegas metropolitan region and public policy in the Mountain West. This package - worth approximately $30,000 - covers tuition, fees, full health insurance benefits, and provides a monthly stipend for each semester of the fellowship. Spring 2024 Career and Internship Fair Student Ambassador Program
UNLV Career Services and Workforce Development is seeking student ambassadors to participate in this year’s Career and Internship Fair. This is a great opportunity for student leaders to work with employers, ask questions, address concerns, and get a different view of a career fair. Graduate Research Opportunity Fellowship Application Now Open
The Nevada NASA Space Grant Consortium (NVSGC) has recently released the 2024-2025 NASA Scholarship and Fellowship solicitations. These funding opportunities are aimed at full-time students who are U.S. citizens enrolled at a Nevada of Higher Education (NSHE) institution. The NASA Office of STEM Engagement requires that all awards/projects specifically address a Mission Directorate research priority.
