Dec. 5: Preparing Future Faculty

This workship will provide participants with information on different levels of a traditional professorship and the other avenues to becoming a faculty member. Attendees will also learn the metrics by which faculty members are usually evaluated for promotion and/or tenure, including teaching, scholarship, and service.

Dec. 8: Work-Life Balance

Work-life balance has always been an important topic, but it is more important than ever to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
By participating in this workshop, you will obtain a snapshot of how work habits and communication styles have changed as we have transitioned to virtual work environments, review the importance of setting boundaries, get tips to disconnect from work after you've "clocked out," and identify strategies on how to create designated work spaces.

Dec. 23: Grad Rebel Writing Boot Camp Application Deadline
The Grad Rebel Writing Boot Camp assists students working on major writing pieces, including theses, dissertations, and publications. The January 2023 Grad Rebel Writing Boot Camp will take place Jan. 9-13. Log in to the Grad Rebel Gateway and click on The Grad Academy tab to apply by Dec. 23. Learn more.
Feb. 9: Spring 2023 Health Insurance Waiver
The deadline to submit a student health insurance waiver for the spring 2023 semester is Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023. Students who already completed a waiver for the 2022-23 academic year do not need to complete another waiver. This waiver period is only for students who were enrolled in courses during the fall 2022 semester but did not complete a waiver and would like to waive out of the student health insurance for the spring 2023 semester, or were not enrolled in courses during the fall 2022 semester but are enrolling in courses in the spring 2023 semester and would like to waive out of the student health insurance for the spring 2023 semester. If students do not complete a new waiver for the spring 2023 semester, the charge will remain on their account and they will be enrolled in the student health insurance. Learn more.
The winter 2022 commencement ceremony for all candidates for doctoral, master's, specialist, artist diploma degrees, and graduate certificates will be held on Monday, Dec. 19 at 4 p.m. in the Thomas & Mack Center. Tickets are not required to attend. The ceremony will also be livestreamed. Learn more and RSVP for the winter 2022 commencement ceremony.
Fall 2022 graduates, have you made your Rebel Legacy? The Rebel Legacy campaign enables all students to make an impact and continue a legacy by making a gift to the areas of campus that have had the most meaningful impact on their Rebel experience. When you make a gift at the suggested level of your class year ($20.22 for 2022) or more, you will receive a generosity cord to wear at commencement.

According to the article, "Staying informed and educated is important. However, constant exposure to negative reporting may be bad for your well-being."
