Sept. 21: Course Organization: Creating an Inclusive and Interactive Online Course Syllabus

Consciously creating a syllabus with attention to language and the user experience will improve students’ overall participation and outcomes in online courses. Workshop participants will learn about the importance of a syllabus in an online course, identify ways to improve syllabus language to be more inclusive and positive, and identify the areas of a digital syllabus that can be converted into interactive links.

Rebel Grad Slam 3-Minute Thesis Competition
Think you can present your research in just three minutes using one slide? Participate in the Graduate College's Rebel Grad Slam 3-Minute Thesis Competition, where graduate students compete to win over the judges and audience for a chance at scholarship money. This year's weeklong competition will take place Nov. 27-Dec. 1. Learn more and apply by Nov. 6.
To help presenters prepare for the competition, the Graduate College on Oct. 10 will host a virtual workshop that will cover strategies for streamlining important aspects of their research, designing a slide that will stand out, and presentation pitfalls and successes. Sept. 22: Breaking Bankruptcy Case Competition Registration Deadline
UNLV undergraduate and graduate students are invited to participate in the UNLV Office of Economic Development and Lee Business School's Breaking Bankruptcy Case Competition, which will culminate in a final presentation on Nov. 16. UNLV students will team up and be tasked with solving real-world bankruptcy issues to compete for a chance to win a scholarship prize of $10,000. Competition registration closes on Sept. 22.
