Feb. 1: Creating and Maintaining a Curriculum Vitae
12-1 p.m., Virtual
A curriculum vitae (CV) illustrates your professional and academic achievements, serving as a document to market yourself to potential employers. In this workshop, you will learn about the standard formatting and organization of a CV and how to evaluate a diverse range of CVs. You will also begin developing your CV using the unique Graduate College template.

Take What You Need Events
On Feb. 2, March 23, and April 13, UNLV will offer Take What You Need events where UNLV community members can secure basic needs items such as toiletries and personal hygiene products, non-perishable food, clothing, bedding and other linens, etc. The events will take place in the Student Union from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Walk-ups are welcome, but participants are asked to anonymously identify a time slot in advance so traffic can be better managed. UNLV's partnership with Academic Impressions offers a comprehensive library of online training, tools, and resources for professional, leadership, and personal development free to UNLV students. Academic Impressions is a leading higher education consulting firm that specializes in providing training, tools, and other resources to meet the professional and leadership development needs of colleges and universities. Early Alert Wellness and Mental Health Resources
UNLV and the Graduate College offer the Early Alert text messaging system that confidentially checks in with students who opt in once a week and provides free wellness and mental health resources. Early Alert asks students to reflect on their emotional, physical, cognitive, relational, academic, and financial wellness. Based on their optional text response, students will receive free, easy-to-access resources to support them and help address their concerns. Learn more and opt in.
Graduate College Offers Virtual Resources to Answer Your Questions
While you're a graduate student at UNLV, you may have questions about financial services, progressing through your academic program, professional development opportunities, graduation, and more. Visit the Graduate Knowledge Center to find answers to questions asked frequently by UNLV graduate students. If you can't find what you're looking for there, visit the Graduate College website and click on "Live Chat" to virtually connect with a Graduate College team member any time Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Feb. 15: Call for Participants for UNLV's Quiz Bowl
During UNLV's Quiz Bowl -- taking place Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 5-6:30 p.m. -- teams of three to five students, alumni, and faculty/staff members will compete to answer questions about history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, popular culture, sports, and more. Teams can sign up by Feb. 15. The winning team will receive a prize. Food and drinks will be provided. The event is sponsored by Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 100, the Graduate College, and the Honors College.
Feb. 21: Call for Applicants for Inspiration, Innovation, Impact: A Celebration of Graduate Student Accomplishments
The Inspiration, Innovation, Impact event is a celebration of graduate student accomplishments. Graduate students from a variety of colleges present short, five-minute, TED-style talks or performances showcasing their research, scholarship, or creative activities. This year's theme is “Power in Diversity: Unlocking Creativity and Research Together." The Graduate College invites applicants interested in presenting the work they are doing that highlights our individual and collective commitment to change. Applications and videos are due Feb. 21. March 17: Spring 2023 Graduate College Medallion Deadline
If you're graduating this semester and you've been involved in Graduate College programming during your time as a graduate student, you might be eligible for the Graduate College Medallion to wear at commencement. The Graduate College Medallion program honors exceptionally involved and high-achieving students. Learn more.
